Dr. Myer is a longtime friend and supporter of MAP. She is a cultural anthropologist and filmmaker. She earned her Ph.D. in anthropology from The Ohio State University and has been a farmer for the past 20 years. She is considered an expert on the topic of African American Farmers and is the co-founder of Farms to Grow, a group dedicated to working with Black farmers and underserved sustainable farmers around the country, bridging the gap between the generations.
Rhythms of the Land is a documentary by Dr. Gail P. Myers, focused on African American Farmers in Southern States. Dr. Myers interviewed 3rd and 5th generation sharecroppers.
