Justin is an AmeriCorps Vista member currently serving as MAP’s newest Mobile Market Coordinator. Justin is continuing the work of MAP’s previous Mobile Market Coordinator, Taylor, along with researchers from the Veggie Van study at the University of Buffalo and University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The Veggie Van study is centered around this question: Does mere access to healthy fruits and vegetables lead to healthier human lifestyles? During his AmeriCorps term of service, Justin aims to grow his understanding of food justice, and apply himself to developing MAP’s Mobile Market program so that we can appropriately serve the communities that we operate in.
Justin recently graduated from SUNY Geneseo with the class of 2020; during his undergraduate years, he studied English Literature and the Humanities. Justin is passionate about tasting new foods, learning new recipes, and practicing new cooking methods. Justin has an extensive customer service background, and he enjoys conversing with customers about food. During his free time, Justin enjoys reading, cooking, playing rugby, kayaking, and generally enjoying the outdoors. In 2016, Justin achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. Throughout his life, he has been passionate about community service, sustainability, and providing help to those in need. Justin looks forward to building personal, and professional relationships with the communities that he will serve throughout his term of service.
Justin joins MAP through a term of service made possible by The Service Collaborative of WNY.
