Laliya Reflects on Patrisse Cullors Talk

This month’s UB Distinguished Speaker was artist, activist and co-creator of the Black Lives Matter Patrisse Cullors.

After listening to her talk MAP Youth Laliya had this to say:

“Today I attended a webinar that had guest speaker Patrisse Cullors. The talk was very refreshing. Patrisse Cullors talked about the BLM which made me (a woman of color) very proud to see the things we've overcome. One of the questions from the audience was something along the lines of “how can whites support the movement”. I love her answer to this question. Ms. Cullors said that it's all about privilege and deciding which privilege you are willing to give up. I overall enjoyed this webinar and am very glad I attended.”
