Working Through Covid with Katie

MEET KATIE (MAP's Farm Manager)

"When COVID-19 caused shutdowns across Buffalo, MAP was in the middle of growing seeds for our farm and seedling sale, as well as preparing the farm for planting. I rely on the help and hard work of our Growing Green MAP Youth, and without them it meant a lot more work for me. Thankfully we had some Youth Alum volunteer to help, having had to come home from college earlier than expected. 

Soliegh and Pepper have been working at MAP since they were in high school. Not having a lot of people around this year really brought us together. Co-working through a pandemic/isolation and a race revolution didn't leave us short for conversation, at least. Trust was mandatory, and in that, relationships build. I feel so lucky to have had continued support, assistance, and some insight to the perspective of young people who have a shared passion for this work and its importance."
