Meet the 2020 Farm Crew!
These are the folks planting, harvesting, and washing up your produce each week. Farm Manager Katie is their fearless leader. These are the hardworking stewards of our land. These are the caretakers of our chickens and bees. These are the smiling faces in our fields!
Meet Alexis! Alexis is sophomore at Columbia University majoring in neuroscience and behavior. This is her first summer at MAP. She is working as a farm intern and loving every minute of it (especially chicken time).
Meet Joe!
A Buffalo native, Joe is a CCE Master Gardener and urban grower with a small farm on the east side of the city. His lane is Land & Food Sovereignty for underserved communities, and he believes that income level and social status should not dictate access to quality, healthy food. His favorite color is green.
Meet Pepper! Pepper is a sophomore at Northeastern University. This is her fifth summer* working at MAP. She likes Boston, but she likes MAP more.
Soliegh just finished her first year at Warren Wilson College in Asheville, North Carolina. She'd like to dedicate this bio to the late Sunny Thistle, beloved chicken. She knows that Sunny is shouting BLACK LIVES MATTER from chicken heaven. A little more on Soliegh is pictured below.
*Pepper & Soliegh join us at interns while they are home from college. In previous years, they were both employed by MAP as Growing Green Summer Youth!
