The Story of Stuff wants to hear from you!

By Mariah Waller

MAP youth went to hear Annie Leonard speak at the University of Buffalo in early March last year.  Annie created The Story of Stuff with her friends, which is a 20-minute movie on the internet about the way we make, use, and throw away “stuff”.  Annie’s video has been viewed more than 40 million times worldwide!

We enjoyed her speech and loved her ideas on how we can try to get more people to create a lifestyle that reduces waste.  We related to Annie and her video a lot because MAP Growing Green is trying to make the world a healthier place as well.  Annie encouraged the people in the audience to “flex their citizen muscles”, which basically means to help as much as you can to make the world a better place.

Our friends at The Story of Stuff would like to hear from you to figure out how we can work together to make the world a healthier, cleaner, and greener place to live.  They want to know what matters most to you, and how they can be most effective in the new year.  They hope that you will visit their website to take their poll.  They just have a few questions for you to answer, they would greatly appreciate it.
