Samin Nosrat is an American chef, author and educator.
The daughter of Iranian immigrants, Norsat was born and raised in San Diego, California.
As an English student at UC Berkley she discovered her passion for food. In Berkley Norsat was inspired to be a chef after dining at restaurant, Chez Panisse. While training with several different chefs she also studied poetry fulfilling her twin passions of "Food and Words".

The book explores the four titular elements of cooking. Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat became a New York Times Best Seller and inspired a four part Netflix series.
