Black History (Every) Month

    





  

February is black history month. A time were we as a nation take these 28 days to uplift and empower those who this nation once enslaved. As important as this month is it is just one part of our ongoing efforts to empower BIPOC individuals. This empowerment for us starts in the soil. The soil that  holds  memories of the hands that once labored on it unjustly. By growing naturally on this land each of our BIPOC youth who lay their hands on it are doing an act of justice. They are reclaiming this space and laying down a path for a better way forward. Unexpectedly our programming has had to be put on pause for the first two weeks of February but in the coming weeks we’ll be engaging with the idea of healing through food solidarity.
